Family Walking Around the Neighborhood

Permanent Affordable.
Build Smart. Build Equity

LilyPads Housing Solutions is a nonprofit housing initiative focused on developing permanently attainable housing with underutilized land and/or infrastructure.

The organization serves as a collaborative facilitator, bringing together community-minded landowners, builders, housing partners, supporters, and mission-aligned funding sources to help create affordable and stable housing opportunities.

By connecting these resources and working alongside local stakeholders, we aim to develop sustainable, non-market housing solutions that support essential workers, families, and others facing housing affordability challenges.

Equitable wealth distribution

Bridging the wealth gap by creating attainable homeownership opportunities that allow residents to build equity, strengthen financial security, and share in long-term community growth.

Lower material costs

Streamlined building technology accelerates construction while improving affordability. Homes are completed in 4–8 weeks with fewer trades, reduced site disruption, and significantly lower resource consumption.

Reduced Regulatory Delays

Our focus on standardized, scalable housing solutions supports more efficient permitting and a faster route to occupancy.

Regenerative designs

Biophilic principles guide the design of living spaces, fostering stronger connections to the natural world through greenery, sunlight, and edible landscapes.

BUILDING POSITIVE CHANGE

How we are changing the housing landscape

Why we need action

Over 15 year waiting list for government subsidied affordable housing for low income capacity families

-City of Toronto

Redevelopment needs to preserve affordability, not replace lower-cost homes with higher-cost "affordable" units.

-Canadian Housing Research Network

Residential real estate represents a significant share of Canada's wealth, expanding access to homeownership can help reduce wealth inequality and strengthen communities.
